1. Reasons for splitting of powder tablet press

(1) Compression formability of materials

The environment of the tablet chamber: The tablet chamber has low room temperature and humidity, and is liable to cause cracks.

Raw material processing: crushing or even micro-grinding of raw materials. Wet or dry granulation process is used to minimize the exposure of raw materials to particles and reduce the impact of raw materials on compressibility.

Improving the compressibility of materials: replacing more compressible auxiliary materials, reducing the speed of agitation and cutter in granulation, or using fluidized bed granulation, not only improve the compressibility, but also promote the dissolution increase. Adding micro-powder silica gel can obviously improve the compressibility of the particles and the hardness of the sheet under low pressure.

Improve the adhesiveness of materials: increase the concentration or dosage of adhesives to make hard particles, which can increase the mechanical force in the binding force of particles, thereby improving the adhesiveness of materials. Granules should not be too big or too hard. Shadows and hemp may appear. Reduce drying time and increase moisture content. Compressibility of materials with different drying time and moisture content was compared. When the particles are too dry, cracks will appear, but in general, qualified sheets can be extruded between 1% and 3%. The way of adding adhesives was investigated. The particle size of the adhesives is reduced or the adhesives are added in the form of solution to induce better adhesion. If wet granulation is used, it can be added both inside and outside.
