Tableting technology is the most common and important technology in the pharmaceutical industry. The tablet press first appeared in the early 19th century, but new tablet presses and tablet technology did not appear until the 21st century.


1. High speed and high output are the main development directions of tablet presses

For many years, high speed and high output have been the goals of tablet press manufacturers. At present, the tablet press produced by the world's major tablet press manufacturers has an output of 1 million tablets per hour. At present, the domestic industry standard yy0020-90 stipulates that the linear speed of the turntable of the high-speed tablet press should exceed 60m/min. According to current standards, most tablet presses produced abroad exceed this speed, and the pitch speed of some tablet presses has reached 200m/min.


2. A fully enclosed integrated tablet molding system

Today's tablet equipment faces two main contradictions: one is to safely and effectively produce more drugs while reducing the total production cost; the other is to reduce the production cost. The other is to consider maximum flexibility in mass production. At present, foreign tablet presses pay great attention to the tightness of input and output links to minimize cross-contamination and dust flying. During this process, most household tablet presses are turned on. A common failure in pharmaceutical factories is that process ruptures can cause dust and leakage between the tablets. The fully enclosed and integrated tablet molding system includes: feeder, tablet press, vacuum cleaner, tablet screening machine, testing equipment and other equipment, as well as the connection of these equipment.


3. New method of tablet weight control in tablet press

The control of the tablet weight difference in the new tablet press is controlled by the pressure sensor under the main pressure. Recently, a company adopted a method different from the above principles to control the weight of tablets on a rotary tablet press. The basis of this principle is to measure the thickness change under a fixed pressure, rather than measuring the pressure change under a fixed thickness, and the measurement is carried out at the preload position of the ordinary tablet press instead of the main pressure position. The most important feature of this principle is that there is a linear relationship between the measured thickness and the controlled weight. In the preload position, when the material is under uniform pressure, its thickness is proportional to its weight. The thickness tolerance of the sheet can be determined directly as a function of the weight tolerance. Therefore, the approximation error is reduced and the control accuracy is improved. Tolerance limits can be automatically calculated by the computer of the control system, so the validity of parameters and data is easier to determine.


In addition, the relationship between tablet thickness and weight has nothing to do with the stiffness of the tablet press, so the transfer between the tablet presses will not affect the tablet press. Another important advantage of the tablet press is that in the pre-compression stage, the pressure can be controlled by changing the thickness of the tablet, so the main control system can be calibrated again without affecting the final thickness or weight of the tablet.
